2Steve Wakefield has been involved with high-performance modern and classic cars for over 25 years.
He has raced historic Aston Martins in the UK and Europe and is a well-known member of an international community that travels from Scottsdale, Arizona, in January to the December London sales. On the way, he is a regular visitor to top events such as Villa D’Este, the Mille Miglia, Monaco Historics, Le Mans Classic, Goodwood Festival, Pebble Beach week and the Goodwood Revival.
As a road tester and features writer on auctions, events and the world of luxury, his pieces are a byword for authoritative text and descriptive prose that really give the reader the inside line.
Having left a career in the fashion business in 2001 to join the recently launched website classicdriver.com, he developed Classic Driver’s English newsletter into one that really engaged readers, and soon became an eagerly anticipated weekly event.
Today, Steve splits his time between his role as Managing Editor of Simon Kidston’s definitive guide to collectors’ classic cars, K500.com, and other services to the specialist classic car industry. He also edits ‘ASTON’, the yearbook of the Aston Martin Heritage Trust.
Steve lives in Hertfordshire, just 20 minutes from London.
